This 3.6-liter S38 inline-six and Getrag 280 five-speed manual gearbox were removed from a 140k-mile 1991 BMW M5. Refurbishment by Schneller BMW Performance in Newbury, Massachusetts was commissioned. Work included preventatively replacing the rod bearings, connecting rod bolts, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and thermostat, along with gaskets for the left and right timing covers, oil pan, and more.
